Prof. Yang Yue

Prof. Yang Yue (Fellow of SPIE, Senior Member of IEEE and Optica)

Research Areas: Intelligent Photonics, Optical Communications, Optical Perception, and Optical Chip.

Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor with the School of Information and Communications Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interest is intelligent photonics, including optical communications, optical perception, and optical chip. He has published over 200 journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >10,000 citations, five edited books, two book chapters, >60 issued or pending patents, >200 invited presentations (including 2 tutorial, >40 plenary and >50 keynote talks). Dr. Yue is a Fellow of SPIE, a Senior Member of IEEE and Optica. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and Frontiers in Physics, Editor Board Member for four other scientific journals, Guest Editor for >10 journal special issues. He also served as Chair or Committee Member for >100 international conferences, Reviewer for >70 prestigious journals.

Professor Quanxin Zhu received the Ph.D. degree from Sun Yatsen (Zhongshan) University, Guangzhou, China, in 2005. He is currently a Professor with Hunan Normal University, distinguished professor of Hunan Province and Leading talent of scientific and technological innovation in Hunan Province, and deputy director of the Key Laboratory of computing and stochastic mathematics of the Ministry of education. He won the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany and the Highly Cited Researcher Award by Clarivate Analytics in 2018-2022. He won First prize of Hunan Natural Science Award, two percent of the world's top scientists in 2020-2022. Also, Professor Zhu is a senior member of the IEEE and he is the Lead Guest Editor of some international journals. Professor Zhu has obtained 2011 Annual Chinese "One Hundred The Most Influential International Academic Paper" Award and has been One of most cited Chinese researchers in 2014-2021, Elsevier.

Prof. Yudong Zhang received his BE in Information Sciences in 2004 and MPhil in Communication and Information Engineering in 2007, from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He received a Ph.D. degree in Signal and Information Processing from Southeast University in 2010. He worked as a postdoc from 2010 to 2012 with Columbia University, USA, and as an Assistant Research Scientist from 2012 to 2013 with the Research Foundation of Mental Hygiene (RFMH), USA. He served as a Full Professor from 2013 to 2017 with Nanjing Normal University. From 2017 till now, he served as a Professor at the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Leicester, UK.
He is the Fellow of IET, Fellow of EAI, and Fellow of BCS. He is the Senior Member of IEEE, IES, and ACM. He is the Distinguished Speaker of ACM. He was included in Most Cited Chinese Researchers (Computer Science) by Elsevier from 2014 to 2018. He was the 2019, 2021 & 2022 recipient of Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. He is included in World’s Top 2% Scientist by Stanford University from 2020 to 2022. He won the Emerald Citation of Excellence 2017 and MDPI Top 10 Most Cited Papers 2015. He is included in Top Scientist in Research.com.
He has (co)authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications in the journals: Ann Oncol, JACC, JAMA Psychiatry, IJIM, Inf Fus, IEEE TFS, IEEE TII, IEEE TIP, IEEE TMI, IEEE IoTJ, Neural Networks, IEEE TITS, Pattern Recognition, IEEE TGRS, IEEE JBHI, IEEE TCSVT, IEEE TETCI, IEEE TCSS, IEEE JSTARS, IEEE TNSRE, IEEE SJ, ACM TKDD, ACM TOMM, IEEE/ACM TCBB, IEEE TCAS-II, IEEE JTEHM, ACM TMIS, etc. There are more than 50 ESI Highly Cited Papers and 5 ESI Hot Papers in his (co)authored publications.
His citation reached 22868 in Google Scholar (h-index 84). He is the editor of Neural Networks, International Journal of Neural System, IEEE TCSVT, etc. He has conducted many successful industrial projects and academic grants from NIH, Royal Society, GCRF, EPSRC, MRC, Hope, British Council, and NSFC. He has given over 120 invited talks at international conferences, universities, and companies, including Harvard University, University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield, De Montfort University, Polish Academy of Sciences, University of Warsaw, Hasselt University, etc. He has served as (Co-)Chair for more than 60 international conferences and workshops (including more than 10 IEEE or ACM conferences). His research outputs have been reported by more than 50 news press, such as Reuters, BBC, Telegraph, Physics World, UK Today News, EurekAlert! Science News, India Times, Association of Optometrists (AOP) news, Medical Xpress, etc.

Prof. Jie Tian

Prof. Jie Tian

Jie Tian was born in 1972. He received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern Polytechnic University in 1995, and doctor's degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2002. From Sep. 2002 to Sep. 2004, he worked as a post-doctor with the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy. He is now a professor of the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His current research interests include acoustic imaging systems, underwater signal processing and pattern recognition, etc. As the project leader, he has presided over more than 10 projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has won the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2013, and is a member of the team of Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020.

Ljiljana Trajkovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree from University of Pristina, Yugoslavia, the M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of California at Los Angeles. She is currently a professor in the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include communication networks and dynamical systems. She served as IEEE Division X Delegate/Director and President of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Dr. Trajkovic serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems and Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Systems Engineering. She is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and System Society and the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. Dr. Trajkovic is a Professional Member of IEEE-HKN and a Life Fellow of the IEEE.
